In depth

Verdict

A trappy nursery and Social Rhythm rates the tentative pick ahead of Leonard Charles and Tobago Reef. Hugh Collingridge's filly is stepped up in trip following a fair run behind Shustraya on her latest start and having shown enough ability to take a race of this nature, a chance is taken from a favourable draw. Leonard Charles was very easy to back on debut but there was no fluke about his victory. He is bred to be better next term so he could be worth taking on this evening. Tobago Reef is quickly turned out after a switch in tactics brought about a change of luck. Whether the element of surprise is quite so pertinent second time around is another matter. Belvedere Vixen is a known front-runner so there is sure to be little hanging about from the opening of the gates. Bridget's Team and My Sara look exposed and would need to show significant improvement in order to take a hand. Social Rhythm is not the most frequent of winners but she has conditions in her favour and rates the percentage call.
