In depth

Verdict

Celtic Carisma, Merrymaker and Amhairgahin are three against the field in a competitive opener and the narrow vote is given to Celtic Carisma. The selection was a fair second behind Sharp Reply last time out, that form looks rock solid in the context of this race and under conditions that suit he is rtaken to score Amhairghin rates the main danger on his latest second behind King Daniel but he has already given the impression her would be suited by a longer trip and he is taken on with this in mind. Merrymaker showed promise on his debut and is sure to improve but his overall profile leaves him with a little to find. Of the remainder Spring Time Girl ran wwell last time out but may be seen to better effect once handicaped and with this in mind for the winner we return to Celtic Carisma.
