Verdict

Capitoul failed to complete his hat-trick upped in grade last time and faces a tough task off topweight despite dropping back to Class 3 company. Savello would have won this comfortably in his pomp, didn't run too badly at Stratford in late April and is down to a tempting mark. He hasn't won for over two years though, whilst MAD JACK MYTTON continues to suggest he's better than his results suggest. He may well get things his own way in this small field and gets the vote with the champion jockey booked. He enjoys trip and ground, has a course and distance win to his name and there should be no excuses. Pearls Legend has a 7lb penalty for his Huntingdon win earlier this week and is a fine servant to connections but the feeling is that that race did rather fall apart, although he remains respected.
