Verdict

Towcester winner Vieux Lion Rouge was gifted a race at Market Rasen on Friday when his only serious rival whipped round at the start and lost many lengths. He was able to coast to success so that shouldn't have taken too much out of him but he'll have a double penalty to carry here if turned out again quickly, meaning he would be giving a stone to stablemate BORDER BREAKER. Kieron Edgar's intended mount has already won a point-to-point so should take to fences having shown decent form over hurdles. Rally was also a decent hurdler but jumped poorly on his chasing debut at Wetherby. River Maigue was also decent over the smaller obstacles and won over fences at Cartmel, but this is a tougher task under 7lb extra.
