Making the short list in the maiden hurdle are Jam Packed, Monash Lad and Robinzal, with the selection being the last-named horse. Harry Henderson's course and distance second on his bumper debut gives him claims tonight. Trotters Bottom was a sprinter on the Flat but, with his dam having stayed further, it will be interesting to see how he goes over hurdles. Jam Packed has shown a modicum of promise and, in a modest event, cannot be dismissed from calculations. Mirage Prince is one of only a few here that hinted at some ability on the Flat, although it was sporadic. Better options, though, are Monash Lad, a 62-rated winner recently on the Flat who has shown some promise over hurdles, and Robinzal, whose first two runs - one of them over course and distance - suggest that he is a major player tonight, and we are prepared to forgive him his Uttoxeter disappointment last time. So much so, in fact, that he is the selection.
