      Verdict

      BRIGHT ABBEY is heading in the right direction after a slow start and was a very easy winner at Stratford eight days ago. He looks a lot more straightforward than Southwell winner Cool Macavity, though the latter was taking on decent novices at Aintree last time. Renegotiate has won twice on the Flat but makes his hurdling debut today and may need this having been off the track since January while Nefyn Bay will do better when tackling handicaps.
