Astyanax, Bobsleigh, Redspin and Theatre Lady form our shortlist for this race with the vote going to Astyanax. The selection won this race from a six-pounds lower mark last season but has shaped well from higher marks in a light campaign this season. With a very good lady rider booked, he looks set to go well. Bobsleigh ran well in the two-mile five-furlong event at Goodwood last time and can go well again, despite being four-pounds higher than a winning mark. Redspin has a big chance if repeating his Ascot Stakes fourth at the Royal meeting, while Siegfrieds Night ran well when placed over course and distance in July and has place claims. Theatre Lady is another to consider as, having won two of her last four races, she is now stepping up in trip, which should present her with no problems. Of the others, Euippe came good at Haydock in July but has been beaten from a revised mark since. Once again, then, we will stick with Astyanax to land back-to-back wins in this race.
