Although there are seven declared runners this looks likely to turn into a match between Corbel and Pennyghael, with preference for the latter. Mick Channon's filly is out of the useful Kerrera, who was trained by Sir Michael Stoute, the trainer of the main danger here. She shaped like a sure fire future winner when running on into second spot at Goodwood, despite not having the best of runs. The Pennekamp filly will know more this time and is taken to prove too strong for Corbel. Sir Michael Stoute's filly didn't make her racecourse appearance until last backend, where she shaped with plenty of promise when touched off by Rondinay at Newmarket. She was then made favourite for an average contest at Redcar, where she was somewhat disappointing in only finishing third. Out of a mare that won over this trip, she should be well suited by this stiffer test, but she will need to have improved over the winter if she is to trouble the selection. All Embracing, well behind the selection on her debut, should improve for the experience and along with Cahrlottebutterfly, can fight out the minor honours.
