Verdict

This should prove to be an above-average maiden with several powerful yards represented. Hyde Park has started favourite in both starts over this trip at Newmarket and should be thereabouts again. Calibration is getting closer and should be winning soon while Solomon's Bay can only improve on his sixth at Ascot. VIA SERENDIPITY (NAP) travelled strongly for a long way in the maiden won by Saturday's Champagne Stakes winner Rivet at York. A lack of experience just told in the end but it was a debut full of promise and he still holds an entry in the Dewhurst. Sticks Mckenzie and Sersar are worth monitoring for future reference while Sir Michael Stoute's newcomers are superbly bred. Highland Cradle is a half-brother to five winners, including a Listed winner, while Karawaan's half-sister Rajeem won the Falmouth Stakes.
