This is yet another open handicap and a narrow vote is given to Trial 'n Tribs, with Panshir and and La Gessa also expected to run well. It is hard to believe Trials 'n Tribs is still a maiden as she has gone so close on numerous occasions. She is versatile as regards trip and if fit following a four month break she must go very close. Panshir has been running over the wrong trip as he is by Unfuwain. This is the first time he has tried middle distances and we should see marked improvement. La Gessa returns to the flat following a couple of disappointing runs over hurdles and has a squeak on the pick of last season's form. Jackie Kiely has had a good winter and although looking in the handicappers grip he does look the best of the others. All in all a difficult race to assess, but Trials 'n Tribs looks on a fair mark and gets the nod.
