Verdict

DJALALABAD may be able to defy her penalty and record back-to-back successes; Felicia should be monitored closely in the market with the consistent Poppets Sweetlove and Hucking Harkness other likely contenders for top honours. Christine Dunnett has enjoyed plenty of success at her local track over the years and supporters have been well rewarded with the Higham trainer showing a level stakes profit in excess of a hundred pounds over the last five years. It's hard to envisage Djalalabad being sent off at a big price given her ready success at Kempton but she should still be fairly priced in this competitive heat. The penalty makes life harder but she's fairly treated and her maiden success may have given her the confidence to enable her to build on that and taste victory once again. Hucking Harkness is also penalised following his cosy success on soft ground at Folkestone but he has to prove himself on these vastly different underfoot conditions and may be worth taking on. Poppets Sweetlove ran well here last time but the handicapper appears to have her about right and she may need a little more cut in the ground to show her best. The dark horse in the field is Felicia who hails from the in-form Stuart Williams yard. She needs to step up on the form that she has shown in maidens but market support would speak volumes for her chance of making her handicap bow a winning one. As things stand though, we'll be awarding our vote to Djalalabad.
