Verdict

Barbirolli might be livened up by the first-time blinkers however his winless run stretches back over a year and a half and so he is passed over in favour of Lough Beg. The selection has been in fine form on the all weather for Tor Sturgis since coming across from Ireland this winter. Three wins from five starts is sure to have boosted his confidence (previously a maiden) and he is fancied to get off the mark on turf, having run some decent races on quick ground in the past. Street Life is consistent and has won here in the past; he has never won on ground described as faster than good so conditions would be an obvious worry. Ryan's Future is often slowly away which makes his task harder; his best form is on softer ground but he does handle these conditions well. Barbirolli and Dawn Mystery both try the shades for the first time, whilst Inch Lodge has been badly out of form of late. This looks a good opportunity for Lough Beg to gain his first turf win.
