    Verdict

This is probably just an ordinary maiden, so it may be worth chancing a small investment in Pivotal Era, as he has not been over-faced as he makes his debut this afternoon. Kept Faith obviously has to be respected, while Fast Bowler is out of a six furlong winner as a juvenile and is worth noting in the betting market. Qutang showed improved form last time and sets what standard there is from those with experience. However, William Haggas' charge has already had his limitations exposed and he may be better off when he is steps into handicap company. Kept Faith, being by Storm Cat out of a high-class performer as a juvenile in the United States, has a solid enough pedigree to be expected to be capable of winning races before too long. However, any overnight rain will not be in his favour and, as he is also sure to appreciate a longer trip in time, there may be better value to be had elsewhere. Which can be provided by Pivotal Era. The selection - a half-brother to sprint winner So Sober - is bred to be effective at this sort of distance and has fared well regarding the draw. The lack of fancy entries for any of the field would suggest that expectations are not going to bee too high on this occasion, but it is also fair to say that Pivotal Era will not need to be anything out of the ordinary to get off the mark at the first time of asking.
