In depth

Verdict

A median auction maiden that looks to rest between Hyades and ITHBAAT and we will side with the latter. The selection looked a nice type when, on his only start to date, he got the hang of things and was closest at the finish over 7f at Sandown last August. Good or fast ground should suit ideally, he is bred to do well at three, and with the yard going so well we will side with him. Henry Cecil saddles Hyades, who started over this trip with a runner-up effort in a Newmarket maiden but looked in need of the run when tried over 1m 3f on his recent reappearance. The drop back in trip, however, does not look a huge plus, and we would prefer to watch him today. Dukes Art has some experience of this track when running nicely here earlier in the month. On the form book he'd have plenty to find to win this, but he is not out of the money by any means. In truth the other runners have shown little so far and can't really be considered on what they have achieved on the racecourse, and debutant Queen Of Venus might be worth a look in the market, but ITHBAAT is the one for us.
