In depth

Verdict

Inkspot has claims for his in-form trainer if the first-time visor has the desired effect; however Harrison George won well at the track last time and is fancied to win ahead of Flying Bantam. Richard Fahey's progressive three-year-old successfully stepped out of his own age-group when winning at the Knavesmire last time and in doing so he earnt himself a 4lb rise in the weights. His jockey negates some of that rise and he should be at home back over this trip. Countdown is one to watch in the betting as he knows how to win here and he will appreciate the cut in the ground and likely strong pace. Flying Bantam won well last time at Ayr but faces different ground today; whilst Viva Volta's recent runs don't offer too much encouragement. Shotley Mac is consistent but at a lower level, whilst Carnivore and Game Lad are not always the most predictable. At a price Neon Blue could go well for Richard Whitaker, however it is Harrison George who gets the vote.
