In depth

Verdict

Astronereus is very much on the upgrade, having followed up a battling success at Newmarket with a grand third to Arab Dawn at Royal Ascot. He seems sure to deliver another good account but is tackling this trip for the first time. Ayrad would be of interest if turning out but his participation must be in doubt after a praiseworthy effort behind Big Orange on the opening day of Newmarket's July meeting. Fractal is unexposed and makes appeal from the lower reaches of the weights where a couple of others of interest lurk in Gabrial's King and Urban Castle. However, the choice is FAMOUS KID who did well to come home sixth in that Arab Dawn contest as he was denied a clear run. He was staying on well at the time, has a win under his belt over this trip and goes well on the ground.
