In depth

Verdict

A decent race in prospect despite the proximity of other good races in the calendar in which Palace Affair bids to land a three-timer. Toby Balding's charge is in fine fettle at the moment and any further cut in the ground should be to her advantage. Lady Dominatrix is the best in on official figures and she was not disgraced in the Duke of York Stakes behind Invincible Spirit. The stable's recent form has to be a severe negative and caution is therefore advised. Lipstick hails from a stable very much in form and although she has proved difficult to train, any market confidence would be worth noting.
