Not one favourite has won this in ten years. Brian Ellison won it a year ago and Carthage can be given a chance after an improved performance under Silvestre De Sousa at Windsor. The stable also run SEAMOUR, a winner at Kempton in September and subsequently of two races over timber. With this likely to be a test of stamina he could be the one to complete a long-range double for the yard. Osaruveetil cost 110,000gns as a two-year-old but didn't run until October when he landed a Kempton maiden in good style so connections will be hoping to make up for lost time this season.
