Arrowtown beat Dominating, a reserve in today’s Cesarewitch, by an easy seven lengths on heavy going at Ayr but Mark Johnston’s stayer has since fared better chasing home Surya on a quicker surface at Haydock and is now 6lb better off. He enjoys an 8lb turnaround than when fifth behind Master Archer at Chester earlier and is probably among the pick of the weights today. Faithful Mount made most at Chester last time but could face a battle for the lead from habitual front-runner Stormin Tom. NORTHWEST FRONTIER beat the latter at Ripon in May and got the better of Master Archer over course and distance in July. He has been highly tried since and looks a threat to all as Baydar will have stamina to prove. Alfredo, Akamanto and Le Maitre Chat, a shock winner here last time, probably have each-way claims.
