In depth

Verdict

Firby has run well in a couple of starts over 1m2f this year and should stay the longer trip. He finished ahead of Tommy Shelby and Champarisi at Redcar and has place claims again. Banksy's Art has been getting closer and is 5lb better off than when beaten a length-and-a-quarter by Victory Chime at Goodwood. Mark Johnston runs three in this and Silvestre De Sousa teams up with his old boss on MAKING MIRACLES (NAP). His dam finished second in the Ribblesdale so the step up to 1m4f is certain to suit the Pontefract runner-up, who was also second twice in his first season. He makes more appeal than last month’s Wolverhampton second Baghdad and Birdette.
