        In depth

        Verdict

        Plenty with a chance in this but BLACK TRILBY was not beaten far when third at Goodwood last time and finished ahead of both Star Stream and Abiento on that occasion. Clive Cox’ colt may well be good enough and is just preferred to Ascot runner-up Rivet, who steps up in trip for this. Dance Teacher went close at Salisbury on her debut, though in soft ground, and the likes of Max Zorin, Portledge, Contrapposto and Midaaw have all shown some promise. Via Serendipity cost 320,000gns at the sales back in April and is entered in the leading two-year-old races. He makes most appeal of the newcomers ahead of First Up and Capezzano.
