Gillingham v Swindon preview

Image: Lee: In contention for Gills

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Gillingham and Swindon Town at the Priestfield Stadium.

Gillingham have Charlie Lee, Danny Jackman and Curtis Weston back in contention for the crunch match. The versatile Lee (ankle) as well as midfielders Jackman (groin) and Weston (knee) have all resumed training this week and provide a boost to manager Andy Hessenthaler's options. However, Jack Payne (hamstring) remains unavailable while Gavin Tomlin sustained an ankle injury just 15 minutes into his return in last weekend's goalless draw at Oxford and is sidelined once again. Centre-back Simon King made his comeback from an ankle problem as an unused substitute at the Kassam Stadium, while goalkeeper Ross Flitney (knee) has also resumed training but is unlikely to replace Paulo Gazzaniga. Olly Lee has this week returned to West Ham following the completion of his second month on loan at the Kent club and will therefore not be available. Gillingham are desperate for victory to keep alive their outside hopes of a play-off place and deny the Robins the point they need to celebrate promotion - and possibly the League Two title - at Priestfield. Meanwhile, Paolo Di Canio could make several changes to his Swindon side. The Italian manager was unimpressed by his team's performance in their 2-1 defeat at Aldershot on Tuesday night, claiming he would field an entire squad of youth-team players if it were possible at Priestfield. While Di Canio is unlikely to go to such extremes, he could include several fringe players to face the Gills. Simon Ferry was relegated to the bench at Aldershot but is now set to return to the middle of midfield, while Alan Connell is pushing for a recall up front alongside Paul Benson. Swindon are still waiting on Matt Ritchie to make his comeback. The former Portsmouth winger has not appeared for the Robins since the goalless home draw with Bristol Rovers on March 31.
