GAA amend proposed rules for Gaelic football

The GAA have altered two of the proposed rule changes for Gaelic football, which will be trialled in the 2019 National League.
The rules limiting the number of hand-passes, ensuring side-line kicks go forward and rewarding attacking marks have all been ratified for the trial.
However, there have been amendments to the sin bin and the kick-outs. There will no longer be zonal limitations on players for kick-outs, but the kick which will now be taken from the 20-yard line must clear the 45.
Meanwhile, the sin bin will now directly replace the black card, for the same offences. The offending player will be removed from the game for 10 minutes rather than ordered ashore to be replaced by a sub.
The GAA announced the changes on Tuesday evening.
"Following a comprehensive consultation process conducted in recent weeks, the following amended list of experimental playing rules will be put before the GAA's Central Council this weekend for discussion.
"Central Council will determine which rules will be used on an experimental basis in the 2019 pre-season competitions and the Allianz Leagues that follow."
The rules will then be voted upon at Congress in 2010 with a view for them to be implemented fully.
