Usain Bolt escaped injury after he was hit by a cameraman on a Segway while celebrating his 200 metres victory at the World Championships.

The Jamaican clocked the fastest time of the year as he powered to victory in 19.55 seconds, while American rival Justin Gatlin was 0.19 secs adrift in second place, with South Africa's Anaso Jobodwana taking bronze.

But as Bolt strolled around the track to celebrate with fans, a closely-following cameraman lost control of his Segway and careered into the back of the 10-times world champion, who was knocked off his feet.

After gingerly returning to his feet, Bolt briefly limped away and rubbed his calf, but quickly laughed off the incident and continued to pose for pictures.

The Jamaican then jokingly blamed rival Justin Gatlin for the accident.

"The rumor I'm trying to start right now is that Justin Gatlin paid him off. So, that's what I'm going with," Bolt said, with Gatlin sitting right next to him.

Bolt played down concerns about his fitness and expects to take part in the relay as planned.

"It didn't actually hit me in my Achilles, it hit me in my calf area," Bolt said.

"It's alright, I will get over it. Never a doubt, never a doubt. I am just going to get it massaged, ice it up a bit and I should be fine."
