NBA great LeBron James set to hit free agency this summer

NBA superstar LeBron James has told the Cleveland Cavaliers he is declining his $35.6m contract option for next season, according to multiple reports.
James is therefore set to become a free agent, although it remains possible that he will elect to re-sign with the Cavaliers.
One of the greatest players in NBA history, James is fresh from his eighth straight NBA finals appearance.
The Cavs were swept by Golden State Warriors this year but James is a three-time former NBA champion, once with the Cavaliers and twice with Miami Heat.
He spent four seasons with the Heat from 2010, in between his two Cleveland stints.
Free agency officially opens on Sunday July 1 and Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics are among the teams who could be in the market for James.
The 33-year-old is fresh from another superb season, having averaged 27.5 points per game, with 9.1 assists and 8.6 rebounds.
