Giant rookie Eli Cottonwood has been the second competitor to be evicted on season two of WWE NXT. After learning of the end of his chances to become the WWE's next breakout star, Cottonwood reacted aggressively, viciously assaulting the other six remaining rookies at ringside. After his Pro - John Morrison - confronted him, Cottonwood decided enough was enough and headed backstage. However, after Michael McGillicutty and Alex Riley began brawling on the stage, Cottonwood returned to commence his attack on Husky Harris and Lucky Cannon. Harris was again lucky to survive in the competition, coming second from bottom for the second time in a row. Cottonwood had his work cut out from the beginning after struggling to win over the WWE Universe with his strange personality and edgy comments about himself and the other rookies.Impressive
McGillicutty earned the number one spot in this eviction poll, rising up from third first time out. He beat Kaval, who dropped to second, and Alex Riley, who rose a place from fourth to third. Percy Watson dropped two places to fourth. Meanwhile, in the ring, Husky Harris gained an impressive last minute win over Kaval before the elimination. After accidentally knocking over team "LayCool" at ringside, Harris took advantage of a distracted Kaval to hit his Running Senton finishing move and pick up the win. McGillicutty had earlier stretched his perfect record to 5-0, defeating the departing Cottonwood with his Running Swinging Neckbreaker. The opening match of the evening saw a notable victory for Percy Watson against Zack Ryder - pro of the first evictee Titus O'Neil. Watson, wrestling for the first time without his signature red glasses that have become so popular with the crowd, gained the pinfall on the 'Long Island Iced Z' after connecting with a Float over DDT and a standing 180 splash to defeat.The results of the second NXT elimination Poll were as follows:
