Henry's protégé eliminated from NXT
Lucky Cannon's fortune ran out this week on WWE NXT as he was the third rookie evicted from the competition. Mark Henry's protégé finished bottom of the NXT Poll and exited the show with surprising insults aimed at his tag partners from the evening Percy Watson and Kaval. Cannon said: "I am not going to do what everyone thinks I am going to do and flip out. "I'm wondering if the WWE Universe has enjoyed this season of NXT as much as I have. We have had a poor man's imitation of Eddie Murphy (Watson) and a nine-year-old boy that sounds like Barry White (Kaval)." Kaval topped the poll, replacing Michael McGillicutty who fell to second, with Alex Riley only just avoiding elimination. Two Pros embroiled in the SummerSlam Nexus storyline took centre stage in the ring as The Miz defeated member of team WWE, John Morrison. The Miz had earlier demanded for Morrison to beg him to join team WWE, just like John Cena and Bret Hart did the night before on RAW.Revenge
Morrison responded by issuing a challenge for a match tonight so he could shut him up. His words backfired though as he looked to have possibly injured himself late on in the bout when he missed an enzuigiri kick in the corner and The Miz capitalised by delivering the Skull Crushing Finale. The team can ill afford any more injuries as they are still one man short heading into their elimination tag team match with the Nexus this Sunday at SummerSlam, with the Miz of course eager to fill the vacant spot. Meanwhile, Kaval picked up the victory for his team in the rookies six-man tag-team match. When the in-ring veteran avoided the McGillicutter from McGillicutty he responded with Warriors Way, the top rope double foot stomp and gave his team revenge for their defeat in an identical match on RAW this week. Riley meanwhile won a spot on Monday Night Raw next week as reward for winning the power of the punch challenge. Results of the Third NXT Poll were as follows:Kaval
Michael McGillicutty
Percy Watson
Husky Harris
Alex Riley
Lucky Cannon (eliminated) Will The Miz become Team WWE's seventh member? Will he cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase? Who will prevail between Sheamus and Randy Orton, or Kane and Rey Mysterio? Will John Cena's team triumph and demolish the Nexus? Don't miss the biggest event of the summer; SummerSlam this Sunday night at 1am LIVE and in high definition on SKY BOX OFFICE.
