Robertson stages fightback to take point from O'Sullivan
Judd Trump produced a fine display to beat Marco Fu in the Premier League, while Ronnie O'Sullivan and Neil Robertson drew.
The 20-year-old from Bristol was never behind against Fu and followed up his victory over Stephen Hendry last time out with another 4-2 triumph.
Trump set the tone for the evening at Charter Hall in Colchester, Essex with a break of 100 to take the first frame, although Fu did hit back to level with a contribution of 82 in the next.
But it was Trump who assumed control as he took the next two rather scrappy frames courtesy of an effort of 47 and a vital clearance of 34.
He closed out victory in some style with his second century of the evening, a superb break of 120 which handed him an unassailable advantage and an added £2,000 to his £4,000 winner's fee.
Fu did take the final frame, but it was too little too late for the man from Hong Kong and, having taken just one point from his first three matches, he now faces an uphill task to secure a top four place and a spot in the play-offs.
Rocket denied
In the night's other match, Robertson rallied to take the last two frames of his match with O'Sullivan to claim a hard-fought draw.
O'Sullivan pinched a tight opening frame in which both players made breaks over 40, but Robertson was straight back on terms with a break of 77 in the second.
The Rocket then showed his undoubted class with a clearance of 112, made predominantly with his left hand, to restore his lead.
A break of 43 set him on the way in the next and he opened a 3-1 lead as Robertson paid the price for failing to escape from a snooker.
But the Australian hit back bravely and set up a final-frame shoot-out with a contribution of 91 in the fifth.
He was then always in charge in the decider and, despite a set-back after being called for a foul on a touching ball whilst mid-flow, sealed a fine fightback with breaks of 35 and 37.
It means O'Sullivan loses his 100 percent record having won one and drawn one, while Robertson now has a win, a draw and a loss to his name after three matches.
