Action movie superstar - and former England diver - Jason Statham has revealed his heartache at never competing at the Olympics.
Statham, 49, represented England at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in New Zealand, but missed out on a medal in all three competitions he entered.
Statham, star of blockbusting films including Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Furious 7 and The Transporter, admitted his failure to dive at an Olympic Games remains "a sore point".
Team GB won a gold, a silver and a bronze in diving in Rio and Statham praised the increase in funding for the sport since his diving days.
Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film Mechanic: Resurrection, he said: "It's a bit of a sore point I never got to the Olympics.
"I just heard they got seven million or something for the diving per year. They deserve it. The divers we've got now are just terrific.
"I started too late. It probably wasn't my thing. I should have done a different sport."
