Leigh Centurions continued their perfect start in the Kingstone Press Championship with a 36-22 victory at third-place Sheffield Eagles.

Cory Aston’s early try got the Eagles off to a flier, but Leigh replied through Sam Barlow's converted effort and they led 16-10 at the break after Tommy Goulden and Gregg McNally had crossed.

Martin Ridyard's boot extended the lead, but McNally was sinbinned to allow Sheffield an opportunity back into the contest.

And the Eagles grabbed their chance with a Scott Taylor try, two Kyle Briggs goals and Quentin Laulu Togagae's second touchdown giving them a 22-18 lead with 17 minutes remaining.

But spirited Leigh preserved their unbeaten record with three tries in the final 12 minutes, Jacob Emmitt's score sandwiched between two efforts from Ryan Brierley and another three goals from Ridyard.

Meanwhile, second-place Bradford Bulls kept up the pressure on Leigh by sweeping aside London Broncos 28-2 at Provident Stadium.

The Broncos had started the day in fourth place, but they had no answer to Bradford, who managed five tries through Jay Pitts, Adam O'Brien, Lee Gaskell, Chris Ulugia and Etu Uaisele.

Ryan Shaw also landed four goals, with the Broncos' only response being a Wes Naiqama goal.

In other Championship matches Halifax ran in seven tries to thrash Workington Town 38-6 and move into fourth place.

Featherstone Rovers powered back from a 14-0 interval deficit at Batley Bulldogs to win 23-16, while Hunslet Hawks also recovered from a 12-10 half-time deficit to beat Whitehaven 26-18.

Doncaster are still searching for their first win of the season after losing 24-12 at home to Dewsbury Rams, who move into fifth place.
