British No.2 hoping to return to the show courts
Elena Baltacha is hoping for another chance to soak up the atmosphere of Wimbledon's show courts by beating Kirsten Flipkens in the second round.
Victory for the British No.2, who beat South African Amanda Coetzer to reach the third round seven years ago, will almost certainly set up a third round clash with top seed Dinara Safina.
And having managed to enjoy the atmosphere during her superb first round win over world No.33 Alona Bondarenko, Baltacha wants more of the same.
"I've played on Centre Court three times and I don't really remember anything about it because it happened so quickly," said Baltacha, who takes on world No.110 Flipkens on Court No.4.
"But I managed to settle my nerves. Nothing fazed me. I stayed calm and really took all that experience in.
"Towards the end of the match, I looked over to my dad and he was going nuts. The atmosphere was fantastic and winning on such a big court, that's a really big thing. I'm always going to remember that."
Unfortunately Baltacha's mum Olga missed the end of the victory in the opening round as she had to fly back to Glasgow - however her brother Sergei has vowed to cheer her on on Saturday should she reach the third round.
"It's a shame my mum couldn't stay and watch," said Baltacha. "She lives in Glasgow now and caught the latest flight she could.
"She can't come back because she's got work but my brother, who also lives in Glasgow, has promised to fly down to watch me on Saturday if I win."
