Undefeated NXT Champion Asuka has relinquished her title so she can move up to the WWE main roster.
The Japanese superstar is arguably the most dominant champion in the show's history having never lost a match since joining almost two years ago.
Asuka defended her title for the final time at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III last Saturday, beating Ember Moon in a candidate for match of the year.
The woman known as 'The Empress of Tomorrow' officially handed in her notice at a TV taping in Florida last night, meaning she will have gone 523 days without suffering defeat by the time the segment airs.
Asuka is currently out for around two months after breaking her collarbone in Brooklyn, meaning she could return in the build-up to Survivor Series in November.
The 37-year old has beaten eight different challengers for her title since winning it in a classic against Bayley in April 2016 and her title reign is the longest in WWE since 1988.
Expect a scramble for Asuka's services, with NXT general manager William Regal confirming both RAW and Smackdown have been in negotiations.
Fans are already excited about a potential clash between Asuka and RAW Women's Champion Sasha Banks, which could be a pay-per-view headline match.
