The show must almost always go on in WWE - even when the top rope on the ring snaps.

The steel steps by the ring are regularly shoved out of position, usually by the body of whichever unfortunate superstar has just been thrown into them.

And the announcers' desks are often reduced to woodchip when a poor soul finds him or herself thrown through one on regular occasions.

Both of those things, however, can be worked around. Michael Cole can hold his notes, he doesn't absolutely need a desk upon which to set them down.

The top rope, though, is an entirely different story.

So what happens when it breaks? Well, it did, during a tag match between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, and Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre at a recent WWE house show.

Click on the video above to see how the quartet of superstars improvised after the top rope met its sad demise.
