Kell Brook motivated by Gennady Golovkin challenge, not money, says Dominic Ingle

Trainer Dominic Ingle says the challenge of facing Gennady Golovkin is all Kell Brook needs as he prepares to step up training for the September 10 showdown.
Ingle and Brook (36-0-KO25), expecting their preparations to be for a clash with welterweight challenger Jessie Vargas, were already early in their training camp when the fight with middleweight great Golovkin (35-0-KO32) was announced last week.
When Golovkin's potential clash with Chris Eubank Jr fell through, the Kazakh and Brook were instead put on course for a Sky Sports Box Office bout at the O2 in London later this year.
Ingle is sure Brook is up to the challenge of facing the three-belt world champion and says talk of him taking the fight solely for a big pay-day could not be further from the truth.
"We've got a good training plan and he's a good fighter. The main thing is he believes he can beat GGG," Ingle told Sky Sports after a press conference in New York.
"Some have said [promoter] Eddie Hearn was cashing in on Kell Brook but what I would say is this is a fight you can't even think about money because you are going to get seriously hurt.
"You've got to go in thinking you can beat this guy because that is the only way you can win it. It's no good going in with a half-cooked plan, with the idea, 'It's okay I am going to make some money'.
"Kell is going to get the best training. He's already been in camp six or seven weeks - this is not going to be a nine-week training camp for a fight.
"We're a third of the way through already and we're heading off to Fuerteventura on Monday for three weeks in the sun, we've got strength and conditioners coming in and nothing is going to be left underdone for this fight."
Much has been said about Brook moving up from welterweight to middleweight in one jump, but Ingle says that is just the kind of challenge the Sheffield fighter thrives on.
"People are talking about him being the smaller guy but he's not a natural welterweight, he's probably more of a light-middleweight," Ingle added.
"These type of challenges are the ones that motivate you. He's 30 years old now and he needs this fight to motivate him.
"Looking at him from nine years old, the one thing I've said over and over again is that he always finds a way. He did against Shawn Porter and he did against Carson Jones - halfway through that fight when it all started going wrong, he found a way to win.
"Gennady's unbeaten and Kell's unbeaten - there is a reason for that and it's because they are very good fighters."
