Kal Yafai's world title fight in Manchester is on despite his opponent Luis Concepcion's failure to make weight.

The WBA's 'world' super-flyweight champion Concepcion was more than two pounds over the 115lbs-limit at the initial weigh-in and failed to shift the excess in time for a second check.

The Panamanian has been stripped of the title and cannot regain it this weekend, but Yafai has opted to press on with the live Sky Sports Box Office fight and will be champion if he wins.

Speaking to Sky Sports after his opponent's initial failure, Yafai said: "This is all about me, not him. I am 100 per cent confident I will become a world champion.

"Now is the time for me, trust me.

"He will keep walking into my jab all night long. I can do all sorts of things, but he can only come forward and you will see what that means on Saturday night."
