Frank Buglioni's hopes of becoming WBA world champion were dashed by Fedor Chudinov after the Russian defended his title with a unanimous points win over the Enfield super-middleweight at Wembley Arena on Saturday.

Despite a valiant performance from Buglioni, the Russian was a unanimous winner with the judges, who scored the fight 120-106, 118-108 and 117-109 respectively.

Buglioni threw several combinations in the early rounds but it was Chudinov who landed the more powerful punches, using his stiff left jab to great effect.

Chudinov was using his right hand more as the contest drifted towards the midway point, interspersing straight shots with crunching body blows.

The fight came to life in a bruising sixth round but Buglioni was deducted two points before the start of the seventh, after flooring his opponent with a late shot after the bell in the previous round.

Buglioni began to throw caution to the wind after the deduction, going toe-to-toe with the Russian landing shots and taking punches in almost equal measure before falling on his stool exhausted at the end of the 10th.

He was looking tired in the 11th and despite a late flurry from the Enfield fighter in the final round, Chudinov's superior power and accuracy saw him claim a comfortable decision.

Pettitt attacked the body early on and seemed to be in control of the contest before being dropped by a sweet left hook from Jenkinson at the start of the 11th.

The Erith fighter never fully recovered from the knockdown and after an onslaught from Jenkinson  the fight was waved off by the referee towards the end of the round.

Dereck Chisora was also in action and gained a verdict by the judges after his 10-rounder with Brazil's Marcelo Luiz Nascimento, while Ryan Walsh outpointed Hull's Samir Mouneimne to claim the vacant British super-bantamweight title.
