Kevin Mitchell will take on Ismael Barroso for the WBA interim lightweight title as part of the December 12 Sky Sports Box Office card at The O2 in London.

Mitchell (39-3-KO29) returns to the site of his WBC title defeat against Jorge Linares in May to face the unbeaten Barroso (18-0-2-KO17) with a massive prize up for grabs.

The winner of next month's bout will face the victor of Saturday's clash between WBA champion Darleys Perez and Anthony Crolla within 90 days.

Mitchell is hoping Crolla can beat his Colombian rival in Manchester, another fight you can watch live on Sky Sports, to provide added motivation to end the unbeaten start to 'El Tigre's' career.

"This is a massive fight for me," said Mitchell.

"Barroso is a strong southpaw with power in both hands, but I am confident that I can smother that threat, impose my skills on him and get the win on another great night at The O2.

"I thought that Anthony won the first fight with Perez. I am sure he was gutted but the whole country is behind him and nobody more than me.
