Dillian Whyte has laughed off Stormzy's 'diss' song and says the rapper's musical release has only served to enhance his profile.

The musician welcomed Anthony Joshua to the ring for his British heavyweight title clash with Whyte (16-1-KO13), a classic battle during which the Brixton fighter rocked the Olympic champion before falling to a seventh-round stoppage defeat.

Stormzy subsequently released a track entitled 'One Take Freestyle' which ends with the lyrics: 'Had one chance you flopped it. Threatening me won't make you the heavyweight champ rudeboy. Stop this, man' - followed by the broadcast commentary of the stoppage.

But Whyte, who is recovering from shoulder surgery and hopes to return to action in June, told Sky Sports: "Stormzy is a rapper and I'm a boxer. I don't let bars fly - I let my fists fly.

"He spits bars and I knock people out. There was no trash talk from my side.

I'm grateful he made a tune about me. There's nothing better than free publicity.
Whyte on Stormzy

"I'm grateful he made a tune about me. There's nothing better than free publicity. Since he did that, I've got a lot of Instagram and Twitter likes, more followers and more hits. I feel privileged someone took the time to make a song about me.

"There are famous people in this world who have never had a tune made about them or aimed at them. I feel privileged and I just hope he doesn't invoice me!"
