Rising welterweight Errol Spence Jr will face Chris Algieri in Brooklyn on April 16 with Krzysztof Glowacki defending his world title on the undercard.
The highly-rated Spence Jr (19-0-KO16) is hoping to make a statement and silence the local support for Algieri (21-2-KO8), whose two career defeats came at the hands of Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan.
IBF world champion Kell Brook recently told Sky Sports of Spence Jr: "I've got my eye on Spence, definitely. He's a very good fighter but the fact is, us world champions have come the hard way and he has just not broken in to that bracket yet.
"He will break in to that bracket but in business sense, fans' stakes and excitement stakes, the other names are more appealing. Spence will come along in to that group very soon and be unavoidable and wanting the big fights."
Spence Jr said: "Of course, I'm happy to be fighting in Brooklyn at Barclays Center. New York City is known for putting on great fights, and this is going to be a big event with a big-name fighter.
"Chris Algieri has been in the ring with Amir Khan, Manny Pacquiao and Ruslan Provodnikov and he's a former world champ. This is a big fight for me and a step up, but I plan to rise to the occasion. I'm going to handle him like I've handled all of my past opponents."
As chief support, WBO world cruiserweight champion Glowacki (25-0-KO16) makes his maiden defence against experienced former world champion Steve Cunningham (28-7-1-KO13).
Glowacki, who won the belt in August when he stunned Marco Huck with an 11th-round stoppage, said: "I am so excited to come back to the US for a major fight.
"I respect Steve Cunningham as a sportsman and as a man. He is a world class fighter and I know that he will be well prepared against me."
