Kal Yafai took less than two minutes to secure a shot at Kohei Kono's WBA world super-flyweight title.
The Birmingham star flattened Dixon Flores twice in the first round to finish the planned world-title eliminator in spectacular fashion.
Yafai moved to 19-0-KO13 in brutal fashion, hopefully securing a summer showdown with Japan's Kono, ideally on home soil.
Britain's super-flyweight boss, whose younger brother Gamal looked good in his win earlier in the evening, exploded into life seconds after the fight started.
It took him just 20 seconds to gauge the range of Flores and his first serious attack showed just how clinical the Birmingham boy can be.
The jab opened the way and a spiteful straight right saw Flores wobble, stumble and end up on his back, supported by the ropes.
To his credit, he got up but there was no time to catch his breath as a composed Yafai then forced the stoppage.
A blistering barrage of shots, ending with two left-hooks that landed under the ribs, sent Torres down again. Yafai simply span around and walked away, even before the count was barely underway.
No British super-flyweight will fight me so it's world title next. Get Kono over here.
Flores was left flat on his back for a couple of minutes as officials made sure the blows had not done any serious damage. He then returned to his stool wearing an oxygen mask just to make sure.
It was not the first time that Yafai has left a crowd breathless as he produced the sort of showing that suggests he is ready for the world scene.
"I saw the opening and I took it," he told Sky Sports.
"Once I landed clean, I knew he'd be in trouble. Trust me, any of these super-flyweights hit clean, it's night night, man.
"I said I'd take my time and box him early on. I saw him box the WBC champion and he gave him trouble, wobbling him in the first round but I was on a mission to make a real statement.
"No British super-flyweight will fight me so it's world title next. Get Kono over here. All respect to Flores for coming here but when I land clean, I put them away. I dedicate it to my Mum as an early Mother's Day present."
