Carl Froch admitted that Anthony Joshua looked 'punch perfect' as he claimed the IBF title with a second round stoppage of Charles Martin.
The British heavyweight was crowned as world champion after he floored Martin twice in another early victory at The O2.
Concerns had been raised that Joshua was taking a big risk by challenging Martin in just his 16th fight, but he easily handled the American southpaw.
Froch heaped praise on the new British world champion and believes the 2012 Olympic champion produced an almost flawless performance on the big stage.
"He looked immaculate, he looked fantastic," Froch told Sky Sports Box Office. "I mean it was a punch-perfect performance.
"He took his time, he had his centre of gravity perfect. He didn't reach in with anything, it was an Olympic gold medal display.
"It was what he did in the Olympics, counter punch with the right hand. Just lean back, accurately time the punch, he landed flush on the chin and did the job.
"He almost was in first gear, like he needed to warm up, and it was almost too easy. You can't really criticise it, because nobody has done that to Charles Martin."
British rival David Haye was watching from ringside and has expressed a willingness to face Joshua, while Tyson Fury could seek out a world title unification clash if he successfully defends his WBA and WBO titles against Wladimir Klitschko.
But Froch insists he cannot truly gauge Joshua's talent after such a one-sided win over Martin.
He said: "I'm personally disappointed that Charles Martin didn't give him more rounds, because they are trying to say 'who does he fight next'?
"Is he ready for David Haye? Is he ready for Tyson Fury? Charles Martin has turned up tonight and he's not really done anything.
"It was almost too easy for him. Is he that good? We cannot really judge yet until he jumps in with somebody like the names we have been mentioning, the other heavyweights."
