A look back at Luke Campbell stopping Gary Sykes in the second round

Luke Campbell will defend his WBC Silver lightweight title this October, live on Sky Sports, so what better way to set the scene than to show one of his most impressive knockouts.

Campbell had admitted in the build-up that he was irked by his first professional defeat by Yvan Mendy, but showed no ill-effects on his return to the ring, with a second-round stoppage of Gary Sykes in March, 2016.

The Hull lightweight linked up with Jorge Rubio for the first time in attempt to iron out any mistakes that may have remained and got back to his old self.

The 28-year-old's glittering display reminded people why he is nicknamed 'Cool Hand', as he showed his composure and class to deliver at least 22 unanswered punches in a finishing flourish.

He got all of his frustration out in less than six minutes. Campbell's switch from the left hook, to the right hand proved all too much for Sykes and his corner was forced to throw in the towel.
