David Price is not considering domestic challenges and is still hoping to face Joseph Parker on November 26, says trainer Dave Coldwell.
The towering Liverpudlian heavyweight (20-3-KO17) has been mentioned as a possible opponent for Parker, who is mandatory challenger to Anthony Joshua's IBF world title.
Confusion has reigned over Price taking a slot on the undercard of Juergen Braehmer v Nathan Cleverly this weekend - live on Sky Sports - but Coldwell confirmed that his man will fight in Neubrandenburg ahead of a big step up.
After Dave Allen (9-1-1-KO6) claimed he had accepted terms to face Price, Coldwell told Sky Sports: "It's all news to us. We're fighting on the Germany bill on Saturday and then waiting to see what's happening with Joseph Parker.
"Last we knew, if AJ doesn't fight Parker next then we're fighting Parker on the bill on November 26. That's a big fight.
"We've been pushing hard to be on the Germany bill first and Pricey's management and promotion have worked hard to make it happen. That'll be a six-rounder then hopefully it's Parker.
"Saturday is all about getting him out because he hasn't had a fight for a long time. He needs it before he has a fight against someone like Parker.
"We're not thinking about Dave Allen. We're thinking about this weekend and then a world name on the AJ bill. Those are the only two things we're thinking about.
"If AJ fights Parker himself then that scuppers us fighting Parker. No disrespect to Dave Allen, but Price wants to fight world-level fighters and he wants to fight the mandatory challenger for a world title to earn the right to face AJ."
On the notion of Price returning to face British-level rivals in general, Coldwell added: "When Audley Harrison, Sam Sexton and Matt Skelton were top of the tree, Price cleaned up. I don't understand where the confusion is.
"Price is willing to fight the No 1 contender for a world title and if he's willing to do that, you can't say he's ducking anyone at domestic level. He understands he's got to prove himself at world level and in order to get there, he's prepared to fight Parker."
