Adrien Broner is excited for his return to the ring against Adrian Granados in his hometown of Cincinnati next month.
Broner (32-2-KO24) has not fought since last April when he stopped Ashley Theophane in Washington DC in what was meant to be a defence of his WBA light welterweight title.
However, he had to relinquish the belt after coming in over the 140lb limit and has since had issues outside the ring, including serving 30 days in jail in July after being charged with contempt of court.
But Broner says he is in prime condition for a comeback fight on February 18 on the campus of Xavier University.
"I'm back at home and excited to get back in the ring," Broner said.
"I'm ready to fight. The boxing game isn't the same without me. Granados is a solid guy who beat someone (Amir Imam) that no one thought he would beat. I know him well and I know there's no doubt he'll be ready to fight.
"I know that I have what it takes to take over boxing. To do that I need to focus 100 per cent on boxing and crafting my skills. That's my mind-set and that's what I'm focused on.
"I'm here to do less talking, and more fighting and smiling. I'm going to put on a great show on February 18. It's all about putting on great performances and winning."
Granados (18-4-2-KO12) ended Imam's unbeaten start in November 2015 and has also only fought once since, when beating Ariel Vasquez last July.
"I'm fully prepared to go to war with Adrien Broner on February 18 in Cincinnati," said Granados.
"We're going to wait and see round by round. I don't like going to the judges' scorecard and fighting in his hometown, I'm going to try to get a knockout. I have to do anything in my power to keep the fight out of the judges' hands."
