Tommy Coyle has pulled out of his fight with Tyrone Mckenna due to a hand injury.
The 28-year-old was set to face McKenna in Belfast on October 21, on the undercard to Ryan Burnett's unification fight with Zhanat Zhakiyanov, but the super-lightweight has confirmed via social media that the contest is now off.
Coyle hopes that the fight with Belfast's McKenna can be rescheduled for later in the year, but if not, he has vowed to conclude 2017 with a bang.
He said: "I am absolutely gutted to announce my fight in Belfast is off.
"I've been struggling with a hand injury in training and as a result I've not been able to complete the training for such a fight.
"I am still in the gym working on other areas of my game and the hand specialist has confirmed I should be back punching in two to three weeks.
"There's nothing more I love than fighting in that ring, on the big stage and I'm hoping I can reschedule the fight with Tyrone before the end of the year or challenge someone else.
"There's plenty of big fights out there to get involved in and I'm excited to conclude 2017 with a bang."
