Brook vs Rabchenko: Dave Allen told some harsh truths by Eddie Hearn
Friday 19 January 2018 15:45, UK
Dave Allen received a stern telling-off from promoter Eddie Hearn and was told he "won’t get another chance" if he loses his upcoming fight.
'The White Rhino' Allen will rematch Commonwealth heavyweight champion Lenroy Thomas, to whom he lost last May, on the March 3 undercard to Kell Brook's comeback, live on Sky Sports.
"This time you have to fight with desperation," Hearn told Allen. "This time you've got 36 minutes and, if you don't win it, you won't get another chance.
"This is it, for you. You have to make this count."
Allen, who has three career defeats on his record, replied: "I know, I know.
"People think I'm just a funny man but I can fight. I can definitely beat Lenroy Thomas because he's not that good! That's what hurt the most.
"When Lenroy Thomas beat me I thought: He's really no good! I'm not going to shake his hand after the fight because I don't like him.
"I want to stop him in one round - which I probably won't. I'll be slim, ish…"
