Whyte vs Browne: Dillian Whyte hits out at Lucas Browne and Dereck Chisora at weigh-ins
Friday 23 March 2018 17:04, UK
Dillian Whyte vowed to "cut up" Lucas Browne with punches after both men weighed-in heavy on Friday.
But Whyte (18st 2lbs 2oz) is aware that he may need to be disciplined to dispose of Browne (18st 11lbs 2oz) on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.
"I want to smash this guy's face! It's about getting the win - whether we've got to box, or try to stop him," Whyte told Sky Sports News after the weigh-in. "I have to approach these fights in a professional manner.
"There will be blood. I want to make him bleed. He's a big guy who likes to use his head and elbows. I'm looking to cut him up with my punches."
The bulked-up Whyte was almost 8lbs heavier than when he defeated Dereck Chisora in late 2016, while Browne was over a stone heavier than his standout victory against Ruslan Chagaev.
"It's either [Browne] or the champion, and the champion doesn't want to fight," said Whyte who is ranked No 1 by the WBC, for whom Deontay Wilder is the title-holder.
"So I want to take a good, dangerous fight to learn and improve from. He's an undefeated fighter, former world champion, massive knockout ratio.
"If I beat him nobody can say: 'you're not credible or world title level'."
Whyte's rival Chisora will appear on the undercard (he weighed-in at 17st 12lbs 5oz), having sparred with Browne in the past few weeks.
"Dereck is a donkey. Donkeys have no loyalty to one master," Whyte said. "They have loyalty to the carrot!
"Give him a carrot and he'll be loyal to you.
"Lucas and Dereck are different fighters. Different style, mentally and physically. With Chisora, there were a lot of emotions. This fight, there will be war, skills and I will use my brain."
