Scott Quigg is still keen to fight fellow super-bantamweight world champion Carl Frampton but says he has done all he can to make the bout happen.

The 26-year-old defended his WBA crown in style in July, stopping Kiko Martinez in the second round at the Manchester Arena on the same night IBF king Frampton laboured to a points victory over Alejandro Gonzalez Jr in Texas.

That prompted promoter Eddie Hearn to reiterate his desire to match the pair but with a possible bout with Nonito Donaire also on the table, Quigg says he is in the dark as to his next opponent.

Even though Frampton and me are obviously across the pond, people here want to see that fight. They are asking why it's not happening. I tell them it's because of Barry McGuigan.

The Bury fighter - currently training at the Wild Card gym in Los Angeles and working closely with trainer Freddie Roach - told Sky Sports: "I get asked all the time! People keep asking if Frampton is the one I am going to fight next? I tell them he's the one I want but there's nothing more I can do at this stage.

"There are also strong rumours out here about Donaire and they all know that's another fight I want. I just want the big fights. There's Frampton and Donaire, they're massive fights.

"I bring myself back to the Wild Card to learn and to get better because they are the fights I want to be involved in and prove that I'm the best

Has got more from Quigg, as well as Hearn, Golovkin, Gallagher, Warrington and more on...

"Even though Frampton and me are obviously across the pond, people here want to see that fight. They are asking why it's not happening. I tell them it's because of Barry McGuigan and they say: Really?!.

"I tell them I think Frampton wants the fight and I've done all I can. We've offered them the fight."

Another fighter to throw his hat in to the super-bantamweight ring is WBA world bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell.

The Doncaster fighter has opened up the possibility of stepping up a division to face Quigg, Frampton and even WBA (super) and WBO champion Guillermo Rigondeaux.
