Andy Lee believes experience will see him crowned a world champion at the second attempt in Las Vegas this weekend.
The Irish middleweight takes on Matt Korobov for the vacant WBO title in the early hours of Sunday morning.
It comes two-and-a-half years after he was stopped in seven rounds by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, who successfully defended his WBC crown for the third time only to lose it to Sergio Martinez in his next fight.
Lee has since moved down and back up to 160lbs and although former amateur world champion Koborov (24-0-KO14) is a year his senior at 31, the Limerick southpaw believes he has the edge in experience.
"He was a very good amateur and was probably considered the best in the world at the time, but since he turned pro he hasn't set the world alight," he told Toe 2 Toe podcast.
"The more I watch him the more confident I get, and I see a lot of opportunities that he is going to give me to out-box him - and if it does go into the late rounds, how I can hurt him.
"I think my extra experience and extra power will be the deciding factors and pull me through the last few rounds."
Lee (33-2-KO23) says he and trainer Adam Booth have paid close attention to the recent form of Korobov, and devised a gameplan that will take him into the second half of the fight.
Although this will be Lee's first scheduled 12-rounder since the Chavez defeat five fights ago, he insists he is in perfect shape for the toughest fight of his career thanks to a camp that took him to the south of France and back to his south London base before heading out to Vegas on Monday.
"Koborov has got very fast hands and fast feet in terms of movmement and a good feint as well, but he definitely tires in the second half of the fight and that is something that happens in all his fights.
"But I am not depending on that, I am expecting a hard 12 rounds.
"My aim is to out-box him for the first half and put the pressure on him in the second half of the fight and dominate him both physically and mentally.
"I am going to win, I've no doubt in my mind. I can see me stopping him in the middle to late rounds."
