Glenn McCrory still wants to see more from Luke Campbell - including a rematch with Yvan Mendy.
The Hull lightweight was back in action on Saturday for the first time since losing to the Frenchman last December, at The O2.
Campbell made an impressive return in Sheffield, stopping experienced Gary Sykes inside two rounds under the guidance of new trainer Jorge Rubio.
Rubio had earlier in the week called for a rematch with Mendy, but newly-crowned Commonwealth champion Campbell would rather go for the British belt first.
Current holder Scott Cardle defends his belt against Sean Dodd in Liverpool on April 2, live on Sky Sports, so the timing might be in Campbell's favour, but he still has to impress McCrory, whoever he fights next.
"It was good to have him back and for him, it was good to be back with a win but I would've expected that performance 10 months ago from Luke Campbell," said Sky Sports' McCrory,
"I didn't see anything he wouldn't have done back then so yes, he's back but we want to see him in with a big lightweight, somebody who's strong and confident - like Yvan Mendy - who he's got to take the fight to.
"That's where he came unstuck. He's back has still not been really proven for me."
